Have you tried the donuts? Get up early and get on over to the market for donuts and coffee!  If you don't, you are missing out.  They are delicious! Buy singly or several at the Pilgrim Church in the early hours of the morning where fresh coffee, juice, and donuts for market patrons are made available. The donuts are old-fashioned cake donuts, served warm with powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, or plain.

And, d
on't forget the Oak Park Farmers Market Corn Fest held August 16th!

The market is held on the Pilgrim Church Parking lot located at 460 Lake St. - just one block west of Ridgeland Avenue.
Market hours:  7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. every Saturday from
                        May 24 thru November 1, 2014.

I like shopping at local markets. The price they offer are cheap and non taxable; the fruits and vegetables sold are all fresh. I don't bother the 30 to 40 minute drive to our nearest market because the hassle is all worth the price. I just hope more people will come back to buy at these local markets. Several people are buying from local marts and malls which is a sad thing. However, these people are not reminded of the quality of the fruits and vegetables there. They are only drawn to the convenience provided by the place.

Corn is my favorite meal with a salt and ketchup. Don't forget about BBQ!
